Finding the kever

  1. 1.Use the exact map pin for the Jewish cemetery parking area; rural roads and map labels can vary.
  2. 2.After arriving, follow current local signs and directions for the cemetery entrance and the ohel.
  3. 3.On 3 Iyar and other busy dates, plan extra time for parking, walking, and local access arrangements.
  4. 4.The ohel is locked behind an iron door and holds three kevarim, not one: Reb Shayele in the middle, his rebbetzin, and a third that the people who look after the place say they no longer have a name for. Reb Shayele's is at the highest point of the ground, with his chassidim buried around him.

Reb Shayale of Kerestir is remembered for extraordinary hachnasas orchim, tzedakah, and warmth toward every Yid. His kever draws visitors throughout the year, particularly around his yahrzeit.
