Who he was
Born in Raseiniai in Lithuania to Reb Hillel Lipszyc, he was rav in Jurbarkas and then in Bauska in Courland — where Rav Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook succeeded him — and rav of Kalisz from 1906/07 until his petirah in 1932, as well as president of the Rabbinical Association of Poland. He is not Reb Shlomo Zalman Lipszyc, the Chemdas Shlomo and first rav of Warsaw, who is buried in Warsaw.
