Known kevarim

רבי שלמה הלוי מקארלין

Rabbi Shlomo HaLevi of Karlin

Reb Shlomo of Karlin (1738-1792)

Yahrzeit: כ״ב תמוז · 5552 / 1792

A talmid of R' Aharon HaGadol of Karlin and of the Maggid of Mezritch, and R' Aharon's successor in Karlin; he later moved to Ludmir, where a Russian (Cossack) soldier shot him as he stood in prayer in the shul in July 1792. Keep the HaLevi and the 1792 date in view — later Karliner rebbes such as R' Shlomo Chaim Perlow of Koidanov share parts of the name and are buried elsewhere.
