Founder of the Slabodka yeshiva and the man behind the mussar derech of gadlus ha'adam that shaped a large part of the yeshiva world. He sent his talmidim to open the Chevron yeshiva and made aliyah himself two years before he was niftar - but he could not manage Chevron's winters and left, and he is buried here on Har HaZeisim, NOT in Chevron, which is where people go looking for him.
