1.The beis hachaim is in Mizhhirya town itself, at the crossroads of Suvorova and Leonova streets — walled, with about 64 matzevos, several of them renovated. The oldest stone read in the survey is from 1801 and the newest from 1942.
2.This is not the Maidan beis hachaim. Maidan is a separate village about nine kilometres north with a beis hachaim of its own; set navigation to the Suvorova/Leonova crossroads rather than to Maidan.
3.Mizhhirya (Volove) was a seat of a Teitelbaum branch — the Volover Rav — and the town had a large Jewish population before the war.
4.Nearest towns are Khust and Uzhhorod; regional airports at Uzhhorod and Mukachevo are limited during wartime, with Košice in Slovakia the common overland gateway. Ukraine wartime advisories apply.
