1.The ohel standing over these graves is a 1960s rebuild. The original was destroyed in the war, and the present, larger structure was put up in its place with money given by Elimelech Glantz of New York — so the building is modern, even though the kevorim beneath it are the original ones.
2.Brzesko had two Jewish cemeteries, an older one and a newer one north of the centre. The ohel is reported to be in the newer cemetery, but no source consulted here pins down the street — check in town before you drive out rather than relying on a map pin.
3.Three Lipschitz rabbonim and their wives are buried inside it. Yidden have been coming here for generations to daven at the graves, and the local heritage association that cares for the cemetery documents the site.
4.There is no permanent caretaker at the gate. Arrange access through the town or the local heritage association, and confirm the exact position of the ohel locally before you set out.

Yahrzeit: י״ז טבת · 5606 / 1846

1767-1846. He served in Krzeszów, Biłgoraj, Sieniawa and Wiśnicz before becoming rav of Brzesko, where he was niftar and is buried, and chassidim still come to his kever on his yahrzeit, 17 Teves. He is the 1767-1846 man — not Reb Izak Lipschütz associated with Czarny Dunajec, and not his own grandson Reb Tuvia.
