Born about 1858, a descendant of Reb Chaim Halberstam of Sanz, the Divrei Chaim; he served as rav and av beis din of Bochnia until his petirah on 15 February 1932. He was the rav of the town from the Halberstam family, not a rebbe of the Sanz or Bobov courts — do not confuse him with the Sanz or Bobov rebbes who share the surname.
